"Domestic abuse" means inflicting or attempting to inflict physical injury on an adult or minor by other than accidental means, placing an adult or minor in fear of physical harm, physical restraint, or malicious damage to the personal property

of the abused party;

 

Domestic Relationships include:

·        Are related by blood or adoption

·        Are or were related by marriage

·        Are or were dating

·        Have or had a sexual relationship

·        Are or were living together

·        Has a child or children in common

 

 

Pro-arrest Policy:

If a member has probable cause to believe that a person has committed a crime involving domestic abuse, whether the crime is a misdemeanor or felony or was committed with or without the presence of the member, the preferred response of the member is arrest (TCA 36-3-619).
